Turquoise and Purple Botanical Garden Wedding

There is something soothing and magical in turquoise hues and splashes of purple, don’t you agree? Which is why I couldn’t look away from these wedding photos, taken by Joel and Amber Wedding Photography! Michael and Natalie chose an ocean themed color combo that was the perfect concoction for this botanical garden wedding at Huntsville, Alabama. The contrast of colorful orchids and the vibrant centerpieces showcases peace, serenity and inner beauty of the open waters and the magical atmosphere of the horizon over the tranquil beach of paradise. The addition of the glamorous bejeweled dress and purple bow tie gave it such a fresh and elegant feel too. I also want to mention how sophisticated every detail of this wedding looked-the groom with his grey 3-piece suit with purple accents, and the bride with her hairpiece and lushious bouquet to highlight. There’s so much more to see in this wedding, that I couldn’t possibly talk about them all. You’ll just have to see it for yourself and enjoy!

We’re All About the Details!

This wedding is absolutely magical! The inspiration of the wedding can be summed up by the expression “what is meant to be will always find its way”. The theme or color palette was centered on their love for the ocean, the endless feeling of the beautiful open waters. Therefore, the couple chose the beautiful arrangement of Horizon (royal) blue, turquoise and purple.

The Wardrobe

The wedding day look was inspired by the couple’s love story, they wanted it to create a magical atmosphere. Natalie wore a dress that special individuals helped her pick out. The dress was glamorous with jewels, and a hair piece to match.

Michael knew right off the bat what he wanted. He went for a light grey 3-piece suit look that really went beautifully with the bride’s dress. The important thing he wanted to make sure was that his suit complimented her dress and the overall color theme, which he did perfectly! However, to make him feel extra special, he decided to wear a purple bow tie as opposed to all the groomsmen who wore a royal blue bow tie instead.

The Florals

These flowers were part of her bridal bouquet while the rest of the bridesmaids had all white rose bouquets; this contrast also made the colorful orchids really stand out!! The centerpieces utilized blue and white flowers that meshed well with the turquoise table cloths on all of the guest tables; this made the overall experience and atmosphere of the room really exhibit the natural feelings associated with these colors: peace, serenity, and inner beauty!

The Garden Wedding

The florals were purple orchids that incorporated both blue and turquoise hues with a splash of purple and white roses!! They were the perfect concoction of our color theme that really captivated the eyes even while we were taking pictures in the beautiful Botanical Gardens of Huntsville, Alabama.

The Elements

Basically the entire wedding décor was DYI and mainly completed by Michael’s mother, Marie. She is wonderfully talented in creating beautiful artwork from utilizing basic supplies and either refurbishing or re-creating beautiful pieces of art while maintain the beach/color theme that we both really love! Her work is very unique!

The Wedding Cake

The cake was beautiful! The vibrant blue orchids and white roses decorated this white layered wedding cake perfectly. Add a glittered “Soul Mate” topper and you’ve got yourself a masterpiece!

The Quirky Details

Even simple details of creativity would bring a fresh and exciting vibe to anyone’s special day! The groom’s family created many of the decorations themselves, and the beautiful turquoise and purple tones throughout the wedding day decor brought beautiful pops of color.

The Reception

The teal table covers and the black wooden chairs contrasts the rich and vibrant turquoise and purple overall theme.

Take this Advice

Give yourself plenty of extra time to get things done! Trying to finish things up in a place of stress takes a lot of the fun away, so try to spread things out to avoid the overwhelm. Don’t be afraid to delegate! Also, practice wearing your wedding shoes for more than a couple hours before the wedding day. ~Joel and Amber Palmer/Photographers
